Xu Xianhui, mayor of Zhangjiajie, met with a delegation led by Mr. Kim Pong-hak, speaker of Hadong County (Hadong-gun), on the afternoon of October 16, 2014. They held a cordial talk about the promotion of exchange and cooperation between Zhangjiajie and Hadong County.
Zhangjiajie and Hadong County initiated their friendly exchanges in 2002, and established a sister-city relationship in 2005. The governments of both sides have conducted many mutual visits, and schools and students have carried out various exchange activities such as paired visits. Non-governmental communication is also increasingly popular.
Xu said that Zhangjiajie and Hadong County share similarities and have distinctiveness in travel and culture. He suggested that governments of both sides boost exchange and cooperation via sister-city activities.
Mr. Kim Pong-hak hailed that Zhangjiajie's landscape is unique to the world, and expected to enhance exchange and cooperation with Hunan in such sectors as travel, culture, and ecology.
