On October 18, Wuling Mountain Area (Western Hunan) Tujia and Miao Nationalities Cultural and Ecological Protection Festival kicked off in Fenghuang County, Hunan. The event aimed at promoting the inheritance and development of national culture, accelerating folk cultural prosperity in western Hunan and deepening the integration of culture and travel.
“Mysterious Western Hunan”, a grand artistic performance which fuses original folk culture and art of western Hunan with modern performing skills, pushed the opening ceremony to a climax. The intangible cultural heritage of western Hunan’s Tujia and Miao nationalities was fully manifested via the artistic performances constituted of “Wonderful Land”, “Beautiful Hometown”, and “New Generation”.
Themed activities, including the First Wuling Mountain Area (Western Hunan) Exhibition of Culture and Tourism Products, Seminar of the Construction of Wuling Mountain Area (Western Hunan) Tujia and Miao Nationalities Cultural and Ecological Protection Region, China (Fenghuang) International Toasting Song Festival will also be held during the festival.
