Before the National Day, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Tongren City of Guizhou Province in Guiyang. Under the agreement, a friendly tie was established between the two sides.
Xiangxi and Tongren, both located in Wuling Mountain Area, are neighbors linked by common mountains and rivers. According to the agreement, great efforts will be made to accelerate key under-construction transport projects including the reconstruction of Tongren-Fenghuang Airport, and jointly exploit various travel sites along Xiangxi-Tongren route, in an effort to build a travel golden triangle area and a barrier-free travel zone.
