An airplane named Hometown of a Great Man--Shaoshan, initiated by the Tourism Bureau and Okay Airways Company Limited, made its maiden flight from Changsha to Kunming on the morning of December 26, 2014. The launch of this flight is aimed at developing an air name-card for Xiangtan's red travel, thus increasing its influence.
"The airplane builds an air platform, narrowing the distance between Shaoshan and domestic and international tourists," said an official from Xiangtan Tourism Bureau. The official added that the maiden flight helps improve Xiangtan's travel image, enhance travel development, and publicize red-travel so as to elevate the comprehensive competitiveness of the city's travel industry.
