2024 Hunan International Cultural Tourism Festival Grandly Opens in Zhangjiajie

On June 1, 2024, the Hunan International Cultural Tourism Festival and Ctrip Global Partner Hunan (Zhangjiajie) Inbound Tourism Conference officially commenced in the beautiful city of Zhangjiajie. Xie Jianhui, member of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People's Congress, announced the opening of the event, and Zhu Shanzhong, ambassador of the United Nations World Tourism Organization, attended the event.

Since its inception in 2002, the Hunan International Cultural Tourism Festival has been successfully held 19 times, becoming a renowned cultural tourism event in China. This year's event, themed "Hello Hunan, Meet in Zhangjiajie," is jointly organized by the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, the Zhangjiajie Municipal People's Government, and Ctrip Group. It aims to promote international tourism consumption in Hunan and the ecological upgrade of the tourism industry. Through the format of "One Festival, One Conference," the event focuses on international exchange, striving to create a global exchange and cooperation platform for Hunan's cultural tourism, and to accelerate the recovery and development of inbound tourism.

During the event, over 1,000 high-end foreign tourism industry guests from more than 50 countries and regions gathered to participate in the Ctrip Global Partner Hunan (Zhangjiajie) Inbound Tourism Conference and various on-site activities. They also launched the Hunan Global Tourism Market Promotion Plan.

Since the beginning of this year, Hunan's inbound tourism market has shown strong growth momentum, particularly in Zhangjiajie, which is favored by tourists from 133 countries and regions worldwide. In the first quarter of 2024, Hunan received a total of 406,100 inbound tourists, a year-on-year increase of 14.28 times, and achieved inbound tourism foreign exchange earnings of 127.5192 million USD, a year-on-year increase of 23.71 times.

This International Cultural Tourism Festival not only injected new vitality into Hunan's tourism industry but also provided an important platform for global tourism cooperation, heralding a promising future for Hunan's inbound tourism market.
