Wang xigui,Taiwan renowned calligrapher, whose native place traces back to Zhangjiajie Sangzhi County,has come to Zhangjiajie Wulingyuan area and held a calligraphy seminar here. More than 20 people including calligraphers, artists and enthusiasts around the district have attended the exchanging activities. During the seminar, Wang xigui has talked about the glamour, features and creative process of calligraphy with his calligraphy creative experiences of more than 40 years. He has also answered several questions about the confusions and puzzles along the creative process on the scene and improvised a work called Yuan(fate) to Wulingyuan Calligraphers Association.
Wang xigui, born in Sangzhi County in 1926 and moved to Taiwan with Kuomintang in 1948, now lives in Tainan city of Taiwan. He is the director of Chinese Calligraphy Institute as well as a member of Tainan Calligraphy committee. And his works have been selected in several international art exhibitions and won big prizes.
