Hunan has been selected as one of the “Best in Travel 2014 – Top 10 Regions” by the world famous travel book “Lonely Planet” (shorted as LP). It is the only listed region in China.
Praising Hunan as “the next hot tourist destination”, LP considers “Hunan has made itself accessible to cities at home and abroad via its new transportation network of high-speed railway, expressway and non-stop flight. The world’s would-be tallest skyscraper Sky City and the phase one of the Changsha subway project are expected to be accomplished in 2014. The province, integrating tradition with modern elements, may not match with tourists’ expectation of China, but it may also be the reason for a travel.”
The top ten tourist destinations include Sikkim of India, the Kimberley of Australia, Yorkshire of England, Hokuriku of Japan, Texas of USA, Victoria Falls of Zimbabwe and Zambia, Mallorca of Spain, West Coast of New Zealand, Hunan of China, and Ha’apai of Tonga.
