Hunan Nanyue Airport Starts Trial Operation

The A320 plane of the China Southern Airlines Co., Ltd. departed from Nanyue Airport in Hengyang at 10:04 and arrived in Shenzhen at 13:01 on June 24, marking the first successful trial flight of the airport, which recently entered the final stages of completing all requirements to obtain functioning status.

According to Flight Operations Department of Hunan Airports Management Group Co. Ltd., the trial flight of 2 hours and 57 minutes comprehensively tested and verified navigation facilities, airfield lighting, communication equipment, flight procedure, headroom environment and supporting capabilities of Nanyue Airport. The results showed that all parameters and indicators complied with standards, making the airport capable of aviation operations.

Following the airport in Zhangjiajie, Changde, Yongzhou and Huaihua, Nanyue Airport is the fifth feeder airport to begin operations. At present, the construction of terminals and other facilities is in full swing. After the completion of all the projects, the airport is planed to open for business this year. Preliminarily, it will launch flights to Beijing, Shanghai, Dalian and three other cities.
