A grand ceremony marking the upgrading of Ningxiang County into a county-level city was launched on December 3, 2017.
Ningxiang city governmental agencies, including CPC Ningxiang City Committee, Ningxiang City People’s Congress, Ningxiang City Government, CPPCC Ningxiang City Committee, and Ningxiang Discipline Inspection Commission, were unveiled. Standing Committee member of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee Hu Henghua attended the ceremony and announced the agencies.
On April 10 this year, the Ministry of Civil Affairs approved the application of the upgrading of Ningxiang County into a county-level city. The Ningxiang City’s administrative region is the same as its predecessor Ningxiang County. Administratively, it will be directly under the jurisdiction of the Hunan Provincial Government, and supervised by the Changsha Municipal Government.
An investment promotion and contract signing ceremony was held at the Ningxiang Citizen Center the same day. Twenty projects were contracted, worth 73.5 billion yuan.
Ningxiang takes industrial investment promotion a priority task for 2017. Between January and October, a total of 177 industrial projects were attracted, with a contracting value of 70.484 billion yuan, accounting for 160.19% of Ningxiang’s annual target. Among these, 60 projects are over 100 million yuan, and 10 projects over one billion yuan.
