On November 21, the 2013 EU-China Urbanization Partnership Forum, themed "Exchange and Learning for Mutual Benefit and Win-Win Results", was held in the Golden Hall of the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The forum was hosted by the National Development and Reform Commission of PRC and the Directorate-General for Energy of European Commission. Leaders from China and Europe such as Premier of the State Council Li Keqiang, President of the Council of Europe Herman Van Rompuy, President and Vice President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso and Siim Kallas attended the forum and delivered speeches. Changsha Mayor Zhang Jianfei was invited to the main forum.
At the forum, the Changsha Municipal People's Government and the Embassy of Sweden in Beijing, China signed a letter of intent on further jointly strengthening urbanization cooperation, promoting discussion on the important trend in urbanization development, and seeking solutions to tackle urbanization challenges confronted by the two sides.
