2013 Zhangjiajie International Forest Conservation Festival Launched

The 2013 China (Zhangjiajie of Hunan) International Forest Conservation Festival was unveiled on October 12. During the opening ceremony, Captivating Zhangjiajie, a movie narrating the change and development of the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, got premiered with the presence of its all major staff.

The festival has been held seventeenth times since its debut in 1991. Xu Xianhui, mayor of Zhangjiajie, stated that the festival helps enhance the citizens' consciousness to protect forest, and thus lays a foundation for promoting knowledge of forest conservation and developing ecological industries.

The premiere is one of the themed activities in the festival. Jointly produced by the China Film Association and the Beijing Binfenshixian Film & Television Cultural Media Co., Ltd., the film tells the inspirational stories of forest workers in Zhangjiajie, reproducing in an artist way the process how the city has developed into the first national forest park in China and then a universally acknowledged tourist city from a common state-owned forest farm.
