Chiefs and senior journalists from 12 overseas Chinese media came to Wulingyuan District of Zhangjiajie City to initiate their collection of folk customs in charming Xiangxi (western Hunan) during October 23 and 24, 2014.
The activity was co-hosted by the International Communication Office of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and Hong Kong's Wenwei (Wenhui) Newspaper. The collection aims to promote in-depth integration of Xiangxi's ecology, culture, and travel, alleviate poverty of the region, and increase its popularity and influence at home and abroad. The 12 media included Wenhui Newspaper, Jietong Daily (Russia), Biweekly Digest (Japan), Chinese Commercial News (Philippines), P.T. ABDI WIBAWA PRESS (Indonesia), Aju Business Daily (South Korea), Kia Hua Tong Nguan Daily News (Thailand), Southern Chinese Daily News (the United States), The United Chinese Press (New Zealand), Kwong Wah Yit Poh (Malaysia), and Merdeka Daily News (Malaysia).
