On August 5 the Bureau of Commerce, Wulingyuan District, Zhangjiajie stated the plans of Shenzhen Strength Huike Investment Development Co., Ltd. to build Wulingyuan International Comprehensive Tourism and Culture Resort in Baofeng Mountain Area. With an initial investment of two billion yuan, the total investment is budgeted at five billion yuan.
The resort is set to be situated at Xiehe Township, Wulingyuan District, near Baofeng Temple constructed in the Song Dynasty (960-1279 AD). The resort, covering an area of over 5,000 mu (333.33 hectares), features landscape sightseeing, leisure, and entertainment. The resort would encompass a five-star resort hotel, a film culture scenic spot, Zhangjiajie International Cultural Creative Zone, Landscape Sports Park, Happy Town of Folk Customs, etc. Famous events will be organized here, such as 50-people Chinese Economy Forum, Chinese Elderly Forum. A series of activities will also be launched, including Zhangjiajie International Art Communication Center, Zhangjiajie Art Festival, and outdoor sports.
