A list of 13 most remarkable natural wonders in East Asia was released on Sina.com.cn, China's popular web portal, on August 3. Wulingyuan Scenic Area in Zhangjiajie topped the list owning to its three thousand magic pillars that are resistant to gravity effects, which provided inspiration for the surrealist film Avatar. The unique landscape of Zhangjiajie was named by international experts as "Zhangjiajie Landform" in November, 2010.
