Recently, Zhangjiajie has officially announced the second batch of municipal intangible cultural heritage protection list, 13 items in total. The dance of Tujia people with festive lanterns (Tujia Huadeng) and picking rock fungus on cliffs are selected into the list.
The list covers 6 categories including folk art forms, traditional craftsmanship, drama and sports, and folk custom. Up to now, Zhangjiajie city has 34 items of intangible cultural heritage with a long history and unique ethnic characteristics, which have important cultural and scientific values.
