Vice Governor Zhang Jianfei Meets with Sri Lankan Guests

On the afternoon of Mar. 2, Vice Governor of Hunan Province Zhang Jianfei met in Changsha with a delegation headed by Malik Samarawickrema, chairman of the United National Party and minister of Development Strategies and International Trade of Sri Lanka.

Vice Governor Zhang extended a warm welcome to Sri Lankan guests, and briefed them on Hunan’s basic information. Zhang remarked that, “Hunan and Sri Lanka share a profound friendship and have maintained frequent economic and trade exchanges. Now Sri Lanka is in the golden period of development, and Hunan is willing to share its successful experience in infrastructure construction with Sri Lanka, so as to seek common development.” 

Malik expressed that the Chinese government and enterprises have long been aiding Sri Lanka in economic and social development. The small island in the Indian Ocean plans to carry out a number of infrastructure projects on its southern part, and sincerely welcomes Hunan enterprises to invest there. “The government of Sri Lanka will collaborate with Hunan to achieve common progress,” Malik added.
