The Forth Hunan Art Festival dropped its curtain in Changsha at the night of September 29.
During the festival, eight theme activities were carried out in Changsha, Yueyang and Shaoyang. The organizing committee meticulously picked out 24 operas representing the newest achievements of artistic creation of Hunan, held exhibitions of calligraphy, fine arts, photographs and collections, and staged such activities as "Citizens Accessing KTV", making appreciation of art and watch of exhibition crazes to citizens. The festival advocated mass participation and evaluation, benefiting over 2 million people.
After evaluation of experts, the awards of the festival were decided. In terms of professional stage art, Qi Opera "Yue Fei", folk dance "colorful Hunan Flavor", Kunqu Opera "The Story of the White Rabbit" and classical Play "On the Long March" won the Special Prize of Tianhan Award. Xiang Opera "Tan Sitong", Shadow Play "Dance with Wolves" and nine more plays won Tianhan Award. Another nine plays won Outstanding Play Award of Tianhan. As for the public culture stage art, 94 plays won the "Hunan Group Star Award".
