Tea Picking Ceremony in Nanyue Mountain

The ceremony for picking tea in Nanyue Mountain, following the traditions of ancient times, was held on April 7th.  This marked the start of Yunwu tea season in Hengshan Mountain, Hunan province.  After conducting the ceremony - offering sacrifices and declaiming eulogies, the representatives from tea associations and tea growers of various provinces gathered to be the first in harvesting the Yunwu tea - a tribute to the emperors since Tang dynasty and a pilot field for cultivating organic tea.
