Hunan, Xinjiang Pledge to Further Cooperation Ties

Xu Shousheng, governor of Hunan Province, met in Urumqi with Zhang Chunxian, Party chief of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and Nur Bekri, vice Party chief and chairman of the Government of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, on the evening of September 2, 2012.

Mr. Xu conveyed Secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee Zhou Qiang's cordial greetings to Mr. Zhang, Mr. Nur Bekri and other Xinjiang leaders, and sent his congratulations on the great achievements Xinjiang has made in economic and social development. Xu said that Hunan and Xinjiang share profound historical ties. Since modern times, Hunanese have made great contributions to defending, building and developing Xinjiang. Specially, since Hunan began the pairing assistance to Xinjiang in 1998, the two sides have established close ties in complementary development and mutually beneficial cooperation. Hunan has finished the tasks of pairing assistance delivered by the CPC Central Committee, promoting mutual cooperation.

Zhang, on behalf of the CPC Xinjiang Committee and Xinjiang government, welcomed the Hunan delegation attending the Second China-Euroasia Expo held in Urumqi. He said that Hunan has given long-term selfless support and help to the reform, development, and stability of Xinjiang. The Hunan cadres aiding Xinjiang, with sincere feelings and great responsibilities, have pushed forward Xinjiang's all-round development in economy, education, culture, talents, livelihood, etc.
