On March 26, China University Alumni Association network (cuaa.net) released the 2014 Research Report on Evaluation of Chinese Universities, showing rankings of Chinese universities in 2014, Star rankings of universities in China mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao, rankings of all types of universities in China, outstanding alumni of Chinese universities and universities in terms of their scientific contribution.
Peking University tops 600 powerful universities in the list, followed by Tsinghua University. Shanghai Jiaotong University and Fudan University rank the third and fourth respectively. Wuhan University leaps to the fifth and Central South University in Hunan ranks the 17th.
Both the listed Central South University and National University of Defense Technology in Hunan won the reputation of "Five-star University" and "China's First-class University". Hunan International Economics University tops the 2014 Ranking list of five-star private universities. It is crowned as "China's First-class Private University" and assessed to be with "five-star" class.
