Hunan Shaoshan Displays 2011 China Red Travel Cultural Festival

The 2011 China (Hunan) Red Tourism Cultural Festival, jointly hosted by National Tourism Administration of the PRC and Hunan Provincial People's Government, began at Mao Zedong Square in Shaoshan. Xu Shousheng, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and governor of Hunan Province declared the festival open.

At the ceremony, the splendid artistic performance complemented the theme “Banner Praises & Attachment to Shaoshan” perfectly. Yin Xiumei and Liu Yizhen, Hunan-born singers sang  the graceful and passionate red songs of Yan Weiwen, a famous singer in China. The last nine stitches of a handmade party flag of Hunan embroidery with the size of 90㎡was completed at the opening ceremony. Shi Yaobin, deputy secretary of the CPC Xiangtan Municipal Committee and mayor of Xiangtan Ciyu reviewed the Communist Party Oath with all the Party members present at the festival. In addition Hunan Red Card, the first tourist red card in China, was also released. Director of the Publicity Department of the Hunan Provincial CPC Committee Lu Jianping declared the departure of the first group of Hunan Red Tourism.

After the opening ceremony, a large-scale red repertoire “Sunset.Shaoshan” took the stage at Dongfanghong Theater in Shaoshan.
