Hunan: Bicycle Enthusiasts Experience First Bicycle-Only Lane

On the morning of August 5th, twenty-odd bicycle enthusiasts experienced Changsha's first bicycle-only lane and tour around the tunnel construction site of Nanhu Road. This event was organized by Hunan Radio Traffic Channel (FM91.8 Changsha) as a move to support Chinese athletes at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

There are three exits on both sides of Shuyuan Road and Naihu Road respectively, at the east bank of the southern line of Nanhu Road tunnel under Xiangjiang River.. The construction of this tunnel is scheduled to be completed at the beginning of 2013 and will open to traffic in June, 2013.

In order to relieve traffic jams and upgrade transport service quality, the 1.5 meters wide orange-yellow lane has been constructed for the convenience of cyclists and to benefit and encourage bicycle enthusiasts.
