Hunan Governor Xu Dazhe visited Zhangjiajie to inspect its travel industry development, and cultural and ecotravel classic routes on August 8 and 9, 2018. Vice Governor He Baoxiang and Secretary General Wang Qun participated in the inspection tour.
Governor Xu stressed that all departments should thoroughly implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and carry forward the essence of Xi Jinping’s important instructions on Hunan. Great efforts should be made to promote integration of different fields, intensify problem-oriented strategies, and accelerate Zhangjiajie’s travel development based on the principles of higher positions, broader views, creative ideas, high-quality projects, superior services, and stronger market consciousness.
The delegation visited Matouxi Village and Shiyanping Village of Wangjiaping Town, the Tianmen Mountain Scenic Area, and the Glass Bridge of Grand Canyon Scenic Area. They learned about the development of rural folk cultural travel, construction of travel infrastructure, upgrading of scenic spots, and travel brand building.
During the inspection, Governor Xu had discussions with chiefs from government departments of Zhangjiajie, Changde, Huaihua, and Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, as well as representatives from scenic areas including Tianmen Mountain and Xuefeng Mountain.
