Aiming to further expand the travel market in Zhangjiajie and keep a firm grasp on the initiative in modern travel industry, the Foreign & Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Zhangjiajie Municipal People's Government has made full advantage of its own resources to deepen the friendship with Nawabola Travel Agency in Iran, managing to bring in their inspection delegation to tour in Zhangjiajie and establish first-level travel routes between Zhangjiajie and Iran as well as Zhangjiajie and Europe. With the efforts of Foreign & Overseas Chinese Affairs Offices of Hunan and Zhangjiajie, the Foreign Ministry empowered Zhangjiajie Foreign & Overseas Chinese Affairs Office the notification of overseas visa to China to expand the international travel market and promote the development of efficient travel in Zhangjiajie.
Zhangjiajie has maintained frequent contacts with South Korea, Japan and the United States, and in 2010 it established friendly relationships with more Asian countries including Iran and Singapore and some European countries such as Finland, Andorra and Spain.
In addition, a series of large-scale international activities have been staged in Zhangjiajie, such as Forest Protection Festival, China International Culture-Tourism Festival, Crossing Tianmen Mountain on Tightrope and Final of International Miss with National Dress, which have attracted a lot of media reporters and visitors from home and abroad.
