First Global Chinese Culture Ceremony Commenced in Yuelu Academy

The first Traditional Chinese Culture Ceremony for Global Chinese, themed “paying a tribute to traditional Chinese culture” was initiated in Yuelu Academy on the morning of July 30. Liu Haifeng, a well-known scholar and dean of Institute of Education of Xiamen University, attended the ceremony and delivered a speech on “millennium history of imperial examinations and traditional Chinese culture”.

Jointly hosted by Yuelu Academy and ifeng.com, the ceremony is held every two years, aiming to vigorously promote and inherit traditional Chinese culture. As the main activity of the event, three awards including “Lifetime Achievement Award in Traditional Chinese Culture”, “Award for Traditional Chinese Culture Research Achievement” and “Award for Promoting Traditional Chinese Culture” have been set for Chinese people all over the world, in an attempt to praise scholars, institutions and public service organizations devoting to studying and promoting traditional Chinese culture.

This ceremony, lasting from July to the end of September, will stage a series of activities including traditional Chinese culture awards selection, Lectures of Yuelu Academy, Confucius Memorial Ceremony in Yuelu Academy, and the First Traditional Chinese Music Festival in Hexi Platform. Results of the awards are scheduled to be released at the award ceremony at the end of September.
