First Batch of Volunteers for 2013 Music Week Reach Zhangjiajie

The first 8 volunteers for the 2013 Zhangjiajie International Country Music Week arrived in Zhangjiajie on the morning of August 29.

Through careful selection for three months, 8 teachers and students from Shanghai International Studies University, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, and Zhejiang Yuexiu University of Foreign Languages are singled out to serve as interpreters of various languages such as Hindi, Russian, Spanish and German.

The event is slated for August 31. These volunteers will officially launch their work after receiving a series of trainings on reception etiquette, local customs and featured products, and background information about the music week.

During the previous two sessions of the event in 2009 and 2011, volunteers played an excellent role in providing sound services for musicians from all over the world. Yue Ni, a volunteer from Indonesia in this session and the winner of Indonesia Preliminary Contest for the 9th “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students, said that as it was the first time for her to be a volunteer at such a great event, she felt excited and nervous and would fully prepare for the volunteer work.
