Chinese Paintings Exhibited to Present Mysterious Western Hunan

Planned by painter Chen Rongyi, the Chinese Painting Exhibition on Beautiful Biancheng (Border Town) in Western Hunan is being held in Hunan Meilun Fine Arts Museum from May 30 to June 25. At the exhibition, 62 paintings created by the old, middle-aged and young Hunan painters, covering the time span of over 30 years, fully present the geo-culture of the mysterious western Hunan.

The paintings were previously exhibited in Thailand’s Bangkok as one of the activities of “Hunan Culture in Thailand” campaign. From perspectives of the original, spiritual, simple and mysterious humanistic society, splendid landscape, and modern development of western Hunan, the painters have described it as a colorful place integrating original ecology with modern life, via freehand brushwork and fine brushwork in traditional Chinese paintings.

Xu Yousheng, director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, visits the exhibition.
