Chinese-Australian Entrepreneur Donates Supplies for HN Flood Relief

Wei Jicheng, an outstanding Chinese entrepreneur and chairman of Australia ABC Tissue Products Co., Ltd., donated 5000 cotton-padded clothes and 2500 sets of hearing aids to Hunan on September 3. This aid was presented to rainstorm disaster victims and hearing-impaired children.

Wei also showed great enthusiasm to develop his hometown--Jieyang in Guanggong Province. Several years ago he made a monetary contribution for the establishment of "Kindergarten with Careful Nurture" at Mei'er Village of Yuhu District in Jieyang City. In 2001, Wei and his wife built a computer room equipped with 123 computers in Mei'er primary school.

Furthermore, the couple donated tens of thousands of cotton-padded clothes and funds in several disaster relief activities, including 1998 mega-flood in Jiangxi, 2002 flood in Yueyang of Hunan and 2002 flood in Fengyang of Anhui. Their philanthropy work has and is continuing to help many throughout the country.
