Changsha City Opens the Largest Area Spring Festival Lantern Show

On the night of February 5, the 2013 First International Lighting Festival of Changsha was formally commenced. The lantern show, covering a total area of 7.6 square kilometers, is considered the largest Chinese New Year lantern show in China. Through marvelous combinations of light and shadow, it is truly a feast for the eyes of holiday visitors. The show will be open for one month.

In this light festival, the lighting arrays, formed by the combination of more than 50 groups of large-scale colored lights joined with the current Meixi Lake landscape lighting, create the lake into a vast sea of lanterns and lights, deeply reflecting the integration of tradition, stylish features and world elements.

The show makes use of the leading domestic LED cold lighting as it's main light source, which is 70% more energy efficient than traditional light sources.
