Changsha and Yueyang Included in 2014 Happiest Cities in China

The list of the 2014 Happiest Cities in China was released at the China-International Urban Development Forum held in Beijing on October 31, which coincided with UN's first-ever World Cities Day. Hunan's Changsha and Yueyang were on the list. Changsha has won the title for seven consecutive years. The city was also selected as one of the first batch of Cities with the Greatest Culture Soft Power.

To focus on the theme of Chinese culture influencing the world, the organizing committee has made the system of assessing China's happiest cities and cities with the greatest culture soft power after widely soliciting opinions from domestic and international experts and scholars. The assessment system cover 70 indexes related to charming, vigor, power, and publicity of urban culture, urban image, urban happiness, etc.

The organizing committee said that the list released on the World Cities Day has a demonstration role in enhancing the image of Chinese cities and promoting Chinese cities go global.
