On August 31, the press conference for the Third Changde China Cup World Go Celebrity Championship was held in Changde, Hunan Province. It is the third time for Changde to host this event.
The event will be held beside the Liuye Lake from September 9 to 13. Hosting the event for the third time, Changde will bring together current winners of the champion's title from China, Japan and Korea again to present a brilliant game among the most skilled. The contestants, young and skillful, outstanding in the global range, and with average skill level, are to perform a high quality competition to the audience.
There will be three knockout rounds. First, one of the contestants will be selected by means of ballot to compete with the loser in the first round, and then the winners of the above two rounds will enter the finals.
The event features a total prize purse of 600 thousand yuan, with 300 thousand yuan for the champion, 200 thousand yuan for the second place and 100 thousand yuan for the third.
