Xu Yousheng, director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, has always paid great attention to the cultural development of Zhangjiajie. He suggested that the city should combine its charming scenery with rich culture to integrate the development of culture and travel in the western Hunan. Lei Yixin, designer of the Martin Luther King sculpture, said that as there is space for sculpture art development in Zhangjiajie, the city should possess its own symbolic sculpture.
