Baojing's Young Drummer Wins Gold Prize in World Chinese Youth Art Festival

Peng Bo, a six-year-old drummer from Baojing, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, won the gold prize in the 11th World Chinese Youth Art Festival.

This event was co-hosted by the Malaysia Branch of the World Federation of Overseas Chinese and the China International Cultural and Arts Communication Association and undertaken by the organizing committee of the “Chinese Culture Wu Zhou Xing” program. It was staged in a theatre of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with over 1,200 candidates from three countries and two regions participating in it. The contest was divided into group A and group B for the youth, children and preschool players. Accompanied by his mother, young Peng Bo participated in the Children group A’s competition on behalf of Hunan. His performance of “Shanwa (kid in the mountains) Playing Drums” won the gold prize with the highest score of 9.88.
