8th Tour de Hunan Cycling Race Kicks Off in Changsha

The 8th Tour de Hunan Cycling Race kicked off in Changsha on Oct. 7. Forty-two cyclists of five teams from all over the country participated in the 2,500-kilometer race. The oldest has been 65 years old. The cycling race aims to encourage happy, healthy and low-carbon lifestyle.

The participants are required to tour around Hunan after passing the province’s 13 cities and 1 prefecture before returning to their start point — Changsha. This year’s race is divided into three parts, namely, southeast Hunan Part, Dongting Lake Part and northwest Hunan Part. Each part requires 7 days and the whole race is scheduled to be finished in 21 days.
