700 Cyclists Gather in Changsha for 2012 Cycling Invitational Race

2012 Jinmao Meixi Lake Cup National Road Cycling Tournament & China (Changsha) Cycling Invitational Race commences along the Xiangjiang River on September 26. The four-day tournament attracted 700 plus cyclists including some London Olympic bicyclist like Wong Kam-po.

The Individual Time Trial, Youth Individual Time Trial and Cycling Race around Changsha are scheduled to start off and reach the goal at the Central Square of International Community around the Meixi Lake. The track around the city covers 7.55km with 10 tracks for males and 8 tracks for females.

The individual road race with the total distance of 30km starts on the former site of Yuxiang Cotton Mill on the western bank of the Xiangjiang River before the riders head north through Xiaoxiang Avenue . They then cross Yinpenling Bridge and continue out through Yuelu Avenue, West 2nd Ring Road and Pingtang Avenue. After passing Yanghuyuan Wetland Park, they cycle through Yuetang Road, South Xiaoxiang Avenue, Xiaoxiang Avenue and back to the site of Yuxiang Cotton Mill for a dramatic finish.
