Scenic areas and spots of Hunan welcomed seas of tourists the National Day Holiday thanks to the fine weather. According to the Hunan Tourism Bureau, Hunan reaped a big harvest both in the number of tourists and travel income. The number of tourists to Hunan hits a record high with the estimated figure hitting 29.4056 million, representing a year-on-year growth of 23.37%. The travel revenue of the province was estimated to stand at 15.05 billion yuan, growing by 28.43%, while that of its 14 cities and prefecture exceeded 30 million yuan each. In particular, people to some travel developing zones greatly increased. As a whole, travel industry of Hunan developed swiftly in an all-round manner. The number of tourists to Loudi, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Shaoyang, Huaihua and Chenzhou grew by over 30%.
Although the travel market flourished during the National Day Holiday, it kept a safe and sound order. Relevant departments and scenic areas took such measures as staggering peak discount, traffic dispersion and traffic flow control to prevent the scenic regions from being overloaded and thus keep a normal order. As was reported by the Hunan Tourism Bureau, no safety accident occurred in the province during the holiday.
