2018 Huanglong Music Season Wins Boao Award

The 3rd Boao International Tourism Communication Forum (ITCF) recently accounted its TC award winners. The 2018 Huanglong Music Season, Hunan’s only candidate, topped the list of best annual festival activities.

The 2018 Huanglong Music Season was held at Wulingyuan Scenic Area in Zhangjiajie, between August 5 and 30. It was co-hosted by the Wulingyuan District Government, Zhangjiajie Wulingyuan Scenic Area, and National Forest Park Management Committee; and organized by the Huanglong Cave Investment Co., Ltd.

Three activities – Piano Art Week, International Vocal Art Week, and International Chorus Art Week, produced 475 prizes, and provided 4.885 million yuan of subventions for art development. Ten thousands of Chinese and foreign music lovers applied for participation, and 100,000 people visited Wulingyuan for a “music trip”. The “Concert in Peaks” at the opening ceremony, a global initiative event, attracted 350 million audiences to appreciate this amazing integration of music and natural landscape via TV and internet.

Huanglong Music Season was initiated in 2016, and then annually held at Huanglong Cave Scenic Area in Wulingyuan, Zhangjiajie, in the first weekend of every August. It is China’s largest music event integrating performances, contests, and exchanges.
