The 2014 Hunan Classic Music Season themed "Elegant Hunan" was launched at the Hunan Music Hall on the evening of March 8. The audience enjoyed a series of world's classic melodies, including the overture "The Bartered Bride" by B. Smetana, violin concerto "The Butterfly Lovers", and "Symphony No. 9 (From The New World)" by Antonin Dvorák.
The Music Season of Hunan Symphony Orchestra, lasting for more than 10 years in Changsha, has attracted various orchestra and audience for its fabulous musical performances.
The Elegant Hunan Art Promotion Program, with seven parts and 202 shows, is mainly carried out in Changsha throughout the year, and expands to other cities, prefecture and universities across the province. Besides elegant classic performances created and performed by cultural and art troupes in Hunan, it also introduces some elegant art plays from home and abroad.
