The Theme Activities of the First China International Cultural Travel Festival

1. The opening ceremony of China International Cultural Tourism Festival

The opening ceremony will be held inHuanglong (Yellow Dragon) Cave scenic area, Zhangjiajie City, on Oct. 23 from10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

At the ceremony, the list of travel performances of the national key projects of cultural travel, the list of pilot areas of the national cultural travel, and Zhangjiajie Declaration on Common Development of China’s Cultural Tourism will be released. Excellent shows will be also be staged at the openning ceremony.

2. "Interview with celebrities" on China’s cultural travel

The "interview with celebrities" on China’s cultural travel is planned to be held in Qinghejinjiang Hotel, Zhangjiajie City, on Oct. 23 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Eminent people in the field of cultural travel from home and abroad will be invited to attend the interview. In the interview, the host will make conversations with the guests on such topics as “culture and travel”, “performance art and travel”, “brands planning and travel”, and “the development of ancient towns and travel”. Phoenix TV, Hunan Satellite TV, Sina and Hunan Rednet will simultaneously broadcast live the interview.

3. Awards ceremony recognizing contributions to the development of cultural travel

The Awards for Contributions to the Development of Cultural Tourism is hosted by the Chinese Culture Promotion Society and the China Tourism Association and co-sponsored by the Travel Channel, Sina and other media. The awards ceremony will be held in Zhangjiajie on Nov. 6 at 8:00 p.m.

At the ceremony, the Awards for Contributions to the Development of Cultural Tourism will be unveiled, which covers nine individual awards, i.e., an article, a painting, a film, a TV series, a song, a travel performance, an ancient town, a theme park, and an image slogan that have influenced China’s cultural travel. The awards are set to recognize those works of culture and art which have significantly contributed to the development of China’s cultural travel industry. Many eminent people in the fileld of culture and travel from home and abroad will be invited to attend the ceremony.

4. Promotion & exhibition week for quality products of China’s cultural travel

The activity will be held from Oct. 23 to Nov. 12. in four scenic spots of Zhangjiajie, i.e., Tianmen Mountain, Shuiraosimen (four streams converge here), Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, and Huanglong (Yellow Dragon) Cave. It is aimed to make an overall presentationand promotion of the quality programs of travel performance presented unveiledby the well-known scenic areas from all provinces, cities and autonomous regions across the country.
