Short-distance Road Trips Continue to Rise

Hunan travel market keeps booming despite the rain on the fifth day of the National Day and the Mid-Autumn Festival holidays. It has maintained stable growth with no major tourist accidents occurred.

The short-distance trips made by car, a major holiday travel mode, continue to rise. Many activities are customized for such trips, including self-drive tours hosted by the Liuyang Wenjiashi Autumn Harvest Uprising Memorial Hall to visit red travel (revolutionary travel) scenic spots. Wild camping has become a good choice to spend holidays. The number of self-drive vehicles reached 10,878 at Yueyang Yangsha Lake International Tourist Resort, generating 6 million yuan of revenue. Self-drive tours have become the norm during holidays.

On October 5, tourist demands in Fenghuang Ancient Town, Tianmen Mountain Scenic Spot, Shaoshan, and Chenzhou Rucheng Fuquan Villa exceeded the maximum daily reception capacity. The Hunan Tourism Development Committee (HTDC) coordinated with relevant departments to address the increasing tourists and ensure travel market operates in a safe and orderly manner.

The tourist numbers in traditional popular tourist attractions such as Wulingyuan Scenic Spot and Pingjiang Shiniuzhai were relatively lower than the designed daily reception capacity.
