Secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and Director of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People's Congress Xu Shousheng called for implementing decisions made by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, and accelerating the building of a powerful province in travel by initiating whole-region travel strategy. Secretary Xu made the remark at the Hunan Tourism Development Conference held in Changsha on March 30. He also stressed that practical measures should be taken to promote Hunan’s travel development while protecting ecological environment and benefiting the people.
Governor of Hunan Province Du Jiahao presided over the conference.
Xu pointed out that it is of great significance to set clear targets for travel development in the era of mass travel. Efforts should be made to integrate five development ideas into Hunan’s travel development, so as to increase travel functions via innovation, improve development quality via coordination, enhance the value of ecotravel via green development, build a new pattern for opening up of travel and benefit more people via sharing development. Initiatives should be taken to explore a new way to develop whole-region travel on the basis of rational travel resource allocation, travel layout, scenic spot construction, law enforcement and industrial integration. The new target for building itself a travel power should be set in a scientific way. And the overall goal is to develop travel into a trillion-yuan industry by 2020, Xu added.
