Second Double Sixth Folk Song Competition Launched in Shaoyang

The Second Double Sixth Folk Song Competition was launched online across the country from May 10, as released by the organizer in Shaoyang City, Hunan Province. It is one of the highlights of the 2016 Hunan (Nanshan) Double Sixth Folk Song Festival.

The two-month competition held at 6 venues is expected to attract over ten thousand participants, from whom “The Top 10 Kings of Folk Song” will be selected after three turns. Besides the national folk song competition, series of themed activities will be held to celebrate the festival, including the Second Chengbu Folk Song Competition, the Opening Ceremony of the festival, Chengbu Cultural Tourism Experience, Orange Isle Folk Song Week and China Excellent Folk Song Album Debut.

This year the festival starts from May and will end in September.
