Russian Travel Agents Attracted by Hunan-featured Products

The “Happy Changsha” Tourism Promotion Conference was held in Changsha on the evening of Nov. 15, 2016. A wide range of local specialties including Hunan embroidery and screen, local snacks, and Liling porcelain displayed at the conference has attracted much attention of Russian travel officials and travel agents. 

This promotion conference, a part of the China-Russia Red Tourism Exchange and Cooperation Activities and the China (Hunan) Red Tourism Festival, presented Changsha’s profound culture, catering culture, diversified travel resources as well as a happy and modern profile from four perspectives. 

It was expected that Changsha and Ulyanovsk region would take these activities as a starting point to promote mutual friendship, enhance resources sharing and achieve win-win results, said Chen Zhong, vice mayor of Changsha Municipal People’s Government. 

The Russian delegation visited the former residences of Mao Zedong and Liu Shaoqi in these two days. They learned about the two great men’s stories in their youth days and were deeply impressed by the city of Changsha, said a Russian official. He added that such activities not only help promote a continuation of China-Russia friendship, but also enhance understanding of culture and history between people of the two countries. 

The delegation will visit Yuelu Mountain, Orange Isle, Tongguan Ancient Town (a renowned kiln site in Changsha), Shaping Township (a land of Hunan embroidery) to enjoy Changsha’s natural landscape and places of historical interest.
