Rakhmanin Yury, director of the Human Ecology and Environmental Hygiene Institute of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, recently led an expert delegation to visit Hunan’s Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture for academic exchanges. Principals of the Hunan Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention accompanied the guests.
The Russian experts came to Xiangxi to survey the detectability, personnel and practical work of local departments for disease control and prevention, particularly in drinking water monitoring, assessment and pre-warning system as well as environment and public health. The experts observed the instruments and facilities and personnel management in the Supervision and Testing Center of the Xiangxi Disease Control and Prevention Center and then visited Fenghuang County to communicate with local departments concerned. During their stay, the Russian guests were acquainted with Xiangxi’s disease control and prevention condition. After the visit, they spoke highly of the facilities adopted for disease control and prevention and the evaluation on professional talents. They also offered valuable suggestions for Xiangxi’s further development on health as well.
