In recent year, Hengyang has implemented the strategy of region-based travel to adjust agricultural structure and speed up integration of travel and other industrial sectors, so as to promote economic growth through developing rural travel.
In 2016, the city received 44.21 million visitors in total from home and abroad, with a travel revenue of 26.5 billion yuan. Among the total, rural travel accounted for over 20%.
