“Kangaroos” Celebrate Changsha-Melbourne Direct Flight Opening

The Hainan Airlines opened its non-stop service between Changsha and Melbourne on November 9, 2016.

This was Changsha’s second direct flight to Oceania, and the forth direct intercontinental flight, after the Changsha-Sydney route opened on Sept. 12.

On the afternoon, a flash mob was staged at the departure hall of the Changsha Huanghua International Airport, to celebrate the opening of the Changsha-Melbourne flight. A group of staffs in kangaroo costumes danced with Australian folk music, attracting passengers to cheer and dance together.

The Changsha-Melbourne flight on Airbus 330 will be operated every Wednesday and Sunday. It will take off at 17:45 Changsha time and arrive at Melbourne at 7 o’clock the next day morning, and then take a return flight from 9 o’clock to 16:30.

This flight further enlarged Hunan’s international airline network, and facilitated Changsha’s progress as a regional aviation hub for international transportation. So far, Changsha Huanghua International Airport has operated more than 150 flights of over 50 airlines, covering 119 cities in China, South Korea, Japan, and Southeast Asia.
