Hunan Weishan Scenic Spot Included in National Scenic Spot List

Weishan scenic spot in Ningxiang County of Changsha City was included in the 8th batch of national scenic spot list announced by the State Council, according to Director of the Changsha Municipal Bureau of Parks and Forestry Zhou Wen on December, 27.

The Weishan scenic spot will seize this opportunity to forge a world-famous Buddhist shrine and destination for tourists, so as to promote Changsha's fame abroad.

As an important project in Changsha's travel development plan and the leading scenic spot in Ningxiang, Weishan scenic spot boasts profound culture and splendid scenery. Up to now, there has been one national 4A scenic spot, two national 3A scenic spots, one cultural and historical site listed under national protection, eleven under provincial protection, one under municipal protection and seven under the county-level protection in the scenic spot.

It is learned that by the end of 2012, the scenic spot has received one million tourists, creating an annual revenue of 292,000,000 yuan.
