The commencing ceremony of Hunan Provincial Museum reconstruction project was held on the morning of July 4. Zhou Qiang, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, announced the start of the project. Shan Jixiang, director of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, and Xu Shousheng, governor of Hunan Province, delivered speeches at the ceremony.
The CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and Hunan Provincial People's Government have exerted great efforts to restructure the museum, aiming at push forward the development and prosperity of socialist culture and realize the goal of making Hunan into a powerful cultural province. It marks that Hunan's culture industry has stepped into a new stage of development, and a milestone in the development history of museum in China, Mr. Shan stated.
Governor Xu added that Hunan Provincial Museum is a concentration of Hunan's history and an important carrier of Hunan culture. It is also a card that displays the image and civilization of the province. The project will contribute to building Hunan into a powerful cultural province, enhancing the soft power of Hunan culture, and helping people share the fruits of cultural development.
