Hunan Provincial Leaders Voluntarily Plant Trees

On the morning of March, 19, Hunan provincial leaders such as Governor of Hunan People's Government Xu Shousheng and Chairman of the Hunan Political Consultative Conference Chen Qiufa, accompanied with other local cadres, took part in the voluntary tree-planting activity held in Yanghu Wetland Park in Changsha Pioneering District on the West Bank of the Xiangjiang River. More than 200 trees were planted that day.

This year, the voluntary tree planting is themed with " Carry on citywide tree-planting activity to build a green Hunan". Xu continuously planted five osmanthus trees. He said, "As the lung of the earth, forest has many ecological functions such as air purification and water conservation. We should take the afforestation work seriously and carefully, and build a green Hunan together."

Yanghu Wetland Park is the largest of its kind in South Central China. Xu subsequently inspected the construction of the park. He exhorted relevant principals that a favorable plan for the park shall be formulated to greatly combine the ecology and travel.
