Hunan Celebrates International Women's Day

On March 7, 100 "Role Models for March 8 Red Banner Holder" and advanced units were commended at the 2013 Hunan Report Meeting on Commemorating the 103rd Anniversary of International Women's Day held by Hunan Provincial Women's Federation in Changsha.

On behalf of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, Hunan Provincial People's Congress, Hunan Provincial People's Government and CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee, Guo Kailang extended the greetings to the women workers in Hunan province. He expressed his hope that women in Hunan will shoulder their responsibilities to make contributions in the construction of new-type industrialization, new-type urbanization, agricultural modernization and informatization and the "Two-Oriented" Society, build a harmonious society by giving full play to their advantages and upgrade their images with elevated quality.

At the meeting, advanced units and women working in urban and rural areas across the country, "Role Models for March 8 Red Banner Holder" and "Role Model for March 8 Red-Banner Group" of Hunan Province were rewarded. Among them, ten women including Zhang Ping, policewoman of Chaoyang Street Police Station of Changsha Public Security Bureau Furong Sub-Bureau, were dubbed the title of "Outstanding Hunan 'Role Model for March 8 Red Banner Holder'"; sixty women including Wu Xiaohong, No.7 bus driver of No.8 bus team in Hunan Longxiang Bus Co., Ltd. won the title of "Hunan 'Role Model for March 8 Red-Banner Holder' and thirty units including Hehuachi Community of Wangluyuan Street in Changsha Kaifu District were crowned the title of "Hunan 'Role Models for March 8 Red-Banner Groups'".
